My Story
I used to run 3 miles every other day. Fast forward to March 2014, and I could barely make it from the couch to the bathroom.
I'd had a series of bad reactions to prescribed medications beginning with Larium, an anti-malarial taken in preparation for the Peace Corps in 2010, which left me with severe intermittent chronic nerve pain. In 2014, I tried treating the pain with more prescriptions, and found myself in an exponentially worse situation: excruciating pain, crushing fatigue, and a laundry list of other symptoms. I remember feeling so alone.
Too sick to leave the house, I began unraveling my mysterious health situation on my own. Feeling like western medicine had failed me, I explored meditation, mindfulness, sound healing, grounding, and a wide range of holistic options, and eventually trained in energy healing myself as my health slowly improved.
"My healing journey has consisted of a series of small things adding up to a big transformation over time."
Diet was one of the biggest turning points for me. Learning about food sensitivities and the many ways they were affecting my body changed my life in a tremendous way. The more I learned, the better I was able to care for myself and heal.
I am still on this healing journey. These days I do yoga, strength training, and go hiking in the woods. My mind, body, and spirit are getting stronger, and my quality of life continues to improve.
My lived experience is the foundation of my coaching practice. I use a mind / body / spirit approach that honors the wisdom each person carries within them, because I know firsthand what it feels like to find your way back to yourself.
